Wandering Poets Project is Michael Ballard’s exploration of poetry set to music. He writes original lyrics and creates the music with the assistance of AI. The project grew from a need to push beyond familiar boundaries and find new ways to give voice to ideas that have long preoccupied him.

 

As in his poetry, those themes—love, loss, longing, regret—are hardly new. What interests Michael here is the approach: using music to carry the words and reach for moments of connection, recognition, a shared humanity. Whether on the page or in song, the question remains the same: how do we live with clarity, humility, and a measure of grace within the brief time we are given?
